Christopher Shannon's AW13 collection has a sporty, yet edgy appeal. Dominated by black, white and a royal blue his man is endowed with a certain confidence and nonchalance. Layering and a different mix of both colors and fabrics is what gives the collection it's edge and what makes it more than just casual sportswear. Showing off the versatility of the clothes, Shannon made the bold choice to include female models in his show.
We saw jumpers winking from the chest of the model they adorned which gave the collection a certain playful aspect that was not to be expected after the first looks. My favorite piece was a black jacket with zipped shoulders, meaning it can double act as both a jacket and a vest. Maybe not the first time we have seen a piece like that, yet with its overly quilted sleeves definitely the standout piece of the collection. Closing with a bright red jumpsuit, Shannon's collection was certainly enjoyable and edgy. It will be interesting to see his pieces on the streets of London, New York, Paris and Milan for those brave and bold enough.
